The VIS A VIS project addresses several challenges in the field of autism in Slovenia.
We are a group of various non-governmental and private organizations united by the idea that changes are necessary and possible in the field of autism. We also want to achieve some of them with this joint project.

New model of support for employees in education and training
For the first time in Slovenia, a snapshot of the needs for knowledge and competencies for working with people with autism in the field of education and training will be made, based on which a new model of support for employees in education and training for the introduction of new teaching practices will be created. In the field of education, this will be the first model that will try to meet the actual needs of employees for relevant skills. The model will be developed in cooperation with a partner from the Kingdom of Norway, as a transfer of good practice and applied at all levels of education. It is an approach that significantly exceeds the individual education currently available to educators and teachers. Information on the needs of employers will be collected for the first time in Slovenia in the field of job training and successful employment of people with autism.
A case study of innovative pilot employment of a young person with autism will enable the development of a new model of employment of people with autism at the national level.
Improving the employment of people with autism
Information on the needs of employers will be collected for the first time in Slovenia in the field of job training and successful employment of people with autism.
A case study of an innovative pilot employment of a young person with autism will enable the development of a new model of employment of persons with autism at the national level.
We also want to offer support to employers in hiring people with autism. In Slovenia, we do not have the data on the prevalence of people with autism – but we believe that this data is crucial when planning any professional and systematic support for people with autism, their families, and stakeholders who encounter them in the process of education, training, employment, and other treatment of people with autism.
Database about prevalence of autism in Slovenia
As part of the project, a database will be created on the number of people with autism in Slovenia, which we do not yet have in Slovenia.
This information is important for the development of a national strategy to support employees in education and training in improving the educational conditions of children, adolescents, and young people with autism, with an emphasis on skills and competencies for work and life in the 21st century and the acquisition of social competences and self-initiative as well as transversal skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and initiative.
Web app
To establish this database, an online application will be created for the first time in Slovenia, which will enable the acquisition of data on the prevalence of autism and will remain in permanent use for further data collection.
